Families are the backbone of Mt Eden, and the rhythm shows in how people book. Most homes want a weekday clean while the house is empty and the school run is done, which suits us: we can work through a villa properly without stepping around anyone.

The houses themselves are the usual isthmus stock — villas, bungalows, the occasional 1930s brick. High ceilings mean cobwebs live where you can’t see them from the door, and single-glazed sashes sweat over winter, so window frames and sills need more attention than a newer house would ask for.

Sections rise as you get closer to the maunga, and the scoria soil under them drains fast but tracks everywhere. Grit at the door is a real thing here, and it is why entry mats and hallway carpet wear out first.

Renovations, then everything after

Post-build and post-renovation cleaning is the job we get called for most often that other suburbs barely ask about. Plaster dust settles into ceiling roses and window tracks and keeps reappearing for weeks; paint specks need lifting off glass without scratching it; new joinery needs the manufacturing film and adhesive residue taken off properly.

Pre-sale cleans are close behind. Before photos and open homes, people want the house looking the way it will in the listing — glass, floors, kitchen, bathrooms, and the parts of the garage that end up in a wide shot.

Once the dust settles, most of those households roll onto a fortnightly clean, often with carpet and upholstery done once at the start to reset everything the builders walked over.

Our runs take in Eden Terrace, Kingsland, Balmoral, Epsom, Grafton and the Newmarket side, so a job near Mt Eden village or up towards the summit road sits comfortably inside a normal day.

If you are coordinating with a builder, painter or stager, we would rather talk to them directly about when the site will genuinely be clear. Post-build cleans booked against a schedule that has already slipped are the main reason those jobs end up being done twice.

The office is a short drive away in Sandringham, which matters for the awkward bookings — a builder finishing later than planned, or a second visit before an open home. Monday to Saturday, 7am to 6pm, police vetted and fully insured.
